Know Your Power: Energy Cost Saving Information Session

Posted on

Join the Northumberland Central, Port Hope, Peterborough, Kawartha, Ajax-Pickering, Whitby, Oshawa, Clarington, Belleville, Quinte West, Trent Hills, Brighton-Cramahe, Prince Edward County, and Napanee Chambers of Commerce for a breakfast event on Wednesday, November 15, to learn about energy cost saving programs and incentives available to Ontario businesses.

The event will bring together representatives from your local distribution company, natural gas distributor and the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), along with businesses and community leaders from the region, to share information about available energy saving programs and how to enrol. You will also have the opportunity to network with other local job creators who are interested in giving their businesses a competitive edge through energy efficiencies and retrofits, and hear success stories from those who have already benefitted.

The Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) has partnered with the Ontario government to lead an education campaign to improve awareness of the Province’s energy conservation and cost saving programs. The Know Your Power initiative is a one-stop shop for information on energy saving programs and opportunities to improve your energy efficiency that will help businesses identify measures to help reduce electricity bills and conserve energy.

Belleville Chamber of Commerce: Tax Changes that Could Impact You and Your Business Information Session

Since the initial release of the Department of Finance’s proposals with respect to the taxation of private corporations in July there have been significant discussions amongst business owners, their advisors and their representatives in government. The implications of these changes are significant and there may be a very limited time to ensure your business is put in the best position to deal with these potential changes. Despite what some of the coverage of these measures indicates, these measures will not just affect the 1%, they can affect all private corporations.

We will discuss the current status of the proposals, the implications to you, your business and your family and how to put yourself in the best possible position to deal with them.

Presenter:
Kris Himberg-Larsen, CPA, CA
Tax Partner at Wilkinson & Company LLP

Location:  The Belleville Club,  210 Pinnacle St, Belleville ON K8N 3A6
