On March 8, 2018, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce is partnering with BMO Financial Group to host a breakfast event on this very important topic.
Panelists will speak to the implications for business and the Canadian economy resulting from gender differences in approaches to innovation. They will also deliberate the different roles that industry and various levels of government can play to create a robust ecosystem for women business owners.

Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters: Women in Manufacturing Success Forum

To celebrate International Women Day 2018, Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) is hosting Canada’s first Women in Manufacturing Success Forum.

The Women in Manufacturing Success Forum is a national platform for women working in manufacturing to speak up and create change they want to see in the industry. It is a unique opportunity for business leaders to get inspired by the stories of women and identify ways they can set the pace in creating workplaces that are more diverse and inclusive.

The Women in Manufacturing Success Forum is a celebration of the success of women in manufacturing and is the first event to encourage mentorship, community-building and experience-sharing amongst female peers. Attracting and retaining more women in the workforce is the key to a stronger manufacturing workforce. Be part of the change.

State of Women in Manufacturing: Ms. Myers gives an overview of what it means to be a woman working in the manufacturing sector in 2018, talks about the challenges and opportunities highlighted in CME’s Women in Manufacturing action plan and how she will lead the working group to overcome the roadblocks.

Ontario Food Exports – US Regulation Seminar: Food Labelling & FSMA FSVP

On behalf of Ontario Food Exports, in conjunction with NSF International, I am pleased to extend an invitation for you to attend a full-day US Regulations Overview course on in Guelph, Ontario.

COURSE OVERVIEW
The US regulatory landscape is changing. This one-day training program focused on US regulations will provide an overview of food labelling under the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as well as the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements.

This course will help you understand the regulatory landscape to identify mandatory requirements for food and beverages being exported to the United States. At the end of the program, you will have a better understanding of:

– New US regulatory requirements, including:
• Basic labelling requirements
• Changes to the nutrition facts panel and serving sizes
• Designing the new label
• Allergen labelling
• Nutritional claims
• GMO labelling
• Added sugar
– FSMA requirements and the role of Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI)
– FSVP requirements that apply to Canadian companies exporting to the US
