VIRTUAL – Zoom

Learn how your business can access federal support for expansion, technology, and defence-sector opportunities.

You’re invited to a virtual presentation delivered by FedDev Ontario, the Federal Economic Development
Agency for Southern Ontario.
The session will focus on two key funding programs designed to strengthen and support manufacturers.

Primary emphasis will be on the RDII program, which offers significant opportunities for manufacturers
engaged in, or looking to enter, Canada’s defence and security supply chain.

THE RDII PROGRAM (Primary)
The Regional Defence Investment Initiative supports manufacturers seeking to:

  • Enter or expand within the defence and security supply chain
  • Invest in new equipment, technology, automation, or certifications to increase competitiveness
  • Enhance production capacity for defence-related components or products
  • Build capabilities in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, machining, composites, electronics, metal
    fabrication, and related sectors
  • Position themselves for upcoming defence procurement and supplier opportunities

    THE RTRI PROGRAM
The Regional Tariff Response Initiative helps manufacturers address challenges arising from tariff changes and
trade-related cost pressures. This program can support:
  • Investments to offset rising input costs related to tariffs
  • Supply chain diversification, reshoring, or sourcing adjustments
  • Technology adoption and process improvements that increase efficiency and resilience
  • Productivity enhancements that maintain competitiveness in shifting trade environments

    WHY MANUFACTURERS SHOULD ATTEND
This virtual briefing will provide manufacturers with practical insights into:
  • Available funding, eligible project types, and potential contribution levels
  • How RDII aligns with current and future defence-sector opportunities
  • Whether existing plans, such as expansions, equipment purchases, certification upgrades, or automation
    investments, may qualify
  • Strategies to strengthen applications and position projects for success
  • Program timelines, application processes, and planning considerations for 2025 and beyond
  • A dedicated Q&A segment with FedDev Ontario representatives

Whether you are already supplying the defence sector or exploring opportunities to enter this growing market, the RDII may present a strong avenue for support. The RTRI can further assist companies navigating tariff-driven pressures.
