Ontario Chamber of Commerce Virtual Event on Canada and US Relations Moving Forward

Posted on

Join the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) for a discussion on the opportunities and challenges ahead for Canada-US relations

February 11 2021
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

About this Event

Canada and the United States share an extensive history of cooperation, interdependent trade and supply chains, and the longest international border in the world. The inauguration of President Joe Biden on January 20th signals a new era for Canada-US relations. What will it mean for infrastructure, trade, labour, and environmental policy?

International supply chains cannot afford to be compromised as public policymakers put their thoughts to post-pandemic economic recovery. Fostering an environment that encourages collaboration, particularly with close allies and trading partners, can help stabilize the economy and safeguard public health.

With two-way trade between Ontario and the US totaling CAD$390 billion in 2018, the relationship between Canada and the US is particularly important for Ontario. The province of Ontario is the number one trading partner with 19 states and the second largest trading partner with nine others.

Join the OCC for a panel discussion with experts from both sides of the border:

•             Earl Provost – Ontario Agent General in Chicago, Government of Ontario

•             Maryscott Greenwood – Partner and Managing Director of US, Crestview Strategy

•             Jim Holcomb – Executive Vice President & General Counsel, Michigan Chamber of Commerce

Moderated by: Rocco Rossi – President & CEO, Ontario Chamber of Commerce

Join us virtually while at home! Zoom link to be provided in advance of the event.
