Belleville Chamber of Commerce – Chamber Chat Live: Getting Back to Work – MEMBER ONLY EVENT

GETTING BACK TO WORK:
Wednesday Jun 9, 2021
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM EDT
Virtual – Zoom Platform
As we progress through the three steps identified by the Province in their plan to reopen, the next 2 or 3 months should see businesses reopening sector by sector.
For some who have been working from home, the transition may not be a simple or easy as we might think. For others who were temporarily laid off, they could very well be in celebration mode, happy to once again be earning.
Through all of it, one thing is certain, there will be a host of employment-related issues that will crop up.
Join our panel of experts as we discuss issues like:
- What COVID protection still needs to be in place?
- Can an employer insist on vaccination before a return to work? Is refusal a grounds for dismissal?
- Some employees have enjoyed being able to work from home, and may in fact make the case to continue to do so. What are the best practices to handle these situations?
- Employees that were laid off, may not be recalled. As a temporary lay-off, they would not have received severance pay. However, this ultimately means ‘constructive dismissal’. What are the things that employers need to be aware of?
Be part of the conversation, ask questions, and be ready!
